If you’re anything like me, you’re always looking for new ways to improve your game. I’ll find myself running around on empty maps at 2am, trying to find new tricks, new tactics, new ledges and ways to outsmart my opponent. I’ll get really excited when a new mouse comes out, and I take a serious look at any product that will improve my game.

So you can imagine when, out of no where, I learned about a new book written specifically for advanced FPS gamers called Fragging Fundamentals.

My first thought was… Really?! Someone knows we exist!

But then I was doubtful… what could a book possibly teach me that I didn’t know? A lot apparently…

When I opened it for the first time, I was shocked by the sheer amount of content, 147 pages crammed with diagrams, setups, attack positions, training exercises, tactics, tricks… basically everything you could possibly know about FPS gaming, written out in a concise, easy to understand way.

The question remains… did I learn something? Well, yes. A lot. I learned the real mechanics behind gamers, the difference between what makes a good player and what makes the best player. I learned why some players can play for years and still be at the same level… and others can improve immensely within a few months. I learned how to improve my aim even more, how to set up my mouse properly for the game I was playing.

I can’t possibly list all the things I learned, I’m still kind of letting it all sink in. I’ll be re-reading it shortly a second time, it’s THAT good. I rate Fragging Fundamentals a 9/10 because it’s by far the best book on first person shooters and it showed me how to improve my game when I didn’t think it was possible anymore.

http://www.fraggingfundamentals.com

** Update: I re-read it, and applied the aiming techniques. Wow, don’t expect miracles, but it really works. My aim is DEFINITELY improving.

*** Update: Ok, I can see a noticeable difference between before and after, I’m hitting more headshots than I ever thought possible.
